Book Club is a great way to expand your horizons, improve your reading skills, promote learning, and enjoy stimulating conversation while building lasting relationships. Thank you to the Pueblo City-County Library District for partnering with our YMCA to provide the following selection:
August's pick: "The Elephant Whisperer" by Lawrence Anthony. When Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of "rogue" wild elephants on his reserve in Zululand, his common sense told him to refuse. He was the herd's last hope for survival, and to save their lives, Anthony took a chance and took them in. His memoir tells of his heartwarming, exciting, funny, and sometimes sad experiences with these huge yet sympathetic creatures.

Monthly Potluck

Who: All ages invited! Non-members are welcome!
Theme: "Pueblo's Melting Pot"
In July, we honored America's 250th; in August, we recognized Colorado's 150th, and this September, we are following in the footsteps of Pueblo State Fair to "Celebrate Your Fairitage!" Participants are encouraged to dress or accessorize with items related to their personal culture, or you can keep it simple and dress in your State Fair western wear best. A moment of silence will be observed for Patriot Day, so honorary Red, White, and Blue is always special too. Come celebrate our wonderful community of Pueblo and all of our individual backgrounds and history that makes us all Pueblo Proud!
Our monthly potluck starts at 12:00 pm, the SECOND Friday of every month in our Community Rooms. "While recipes are not necessary, it might be fun to at least label the origin of any traditional dishes or desserts."Please bring a dish to share. More savory, fewer desserts, please!
Writers Corner

This inviting and safe space allows you to share your writing, reflect, and be inspired by others. Whether you're journaling life stories, crafting poems, or exploring new ideas, Writers Corner offers encouragement, connection, and the joy of putting words to paper.

Bring your own supplies and enjoy an afternoon of creativity, conversation, and community.
