Book Club is a great way to expand your horizons, improve your reading skills, promote learning, and enjoy stimulating conversation while building lasting relationships. Thank you to the Pueblo City-County Library District for partnering with our YMCA to provide the following selection:
November's Pick: Murder Past Due - Miranda James
“A hurricane slammed through my kitchen this morning, and his name was Justin.
“I sighed, surveying the aftermath of my boarder’s breakfast. What had gotten into the boy?”

Part-time library worker Charlie Harris is concerned about the young man boarding in his house. Justin seems agitated about something, and when famous author Godfrey Priest (a former classmate of Charlie’s) rolls back into town, Charlie thinks there may be a connection. Fast forward several hours, and Godfrey’s dead. Justin was the one to find the body, which makes him a prime suspect. Charlie believes he’s innocent, and he has a lot of connections in town, as well as access to all the papers Godfrey donated to the library. Will a bit of amateur sleuthing be enough to nudge the police in the right direction?

Theme: National American Teddy Bear Birthday Party!
The story goes that the Teddy Bear was invented in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt when he declined to hunt a defenseless bear during, ironically, a hunting trip on November 14th 1902.
Our monthly potluck starts at 12:00 pm, the SECOND Friday of every month in our Community Rooms. "While recipes are not necessary, it might be fun to at least label the origin of any traditional dishes or desserts."Please bring a dish to share. More savory, fewer desserts, please!
